AMSOIL Shipping Rates To Remote Locations in Canada

Here’s how to avoid shipping rate surprises.

AMSOIL’s ships most of their Canadian orders by Loomis Express from distribution centres located in Ontario and Alberta. Thanks to burgeoning Canadian sales and improved economies of scale, AMSOIL’s shipping rates within Canada are actually cheaper today than they were 10 years ago.

But there are situations where shipping rates can go beyond regular rates. If you live in a remote location or off courier routes, you could incur “beyond” charges by the shipper. This is something we want to help you avoid. We have heard of situations where someone used a shipping address 15 minutes out of Sudbury and incurred twice the shipping costs that they would have had they requested delivery in the city.

Please note that this situation is very rare and does not apply to 99% of Canadian customers. But if you think your delivery address may be not be “courier friendly” or if your shipment could potentially be handed off to a third-party shipper, we have some tips.

What To Do

• If you are in rural location or in a small town that may not receive regular courier service, have your order shipped to the nearest city or town that is on a courier route. Orders can be shipped to third parties such as a workplace, business address or friend. Many towns and cities also have Loomis agents that can act as a drop-off centre.
• This also applies to farms. In most cases, couriers will not drop at farms or rural addresses.
• For locations in the far north, the best bet is to ship to the nearest large centre.
