Using AMSOIL Pi With Smaller Gas Tanks

AMSOIL Pi Performance Improver Gasoline Additive

A reader asks: I’ve got a question about AMSOIL P.i. Gasoline Additive. My car is a Honda Fit and the fuel tank only holds 10.6 gallons (40 L). The P.i. label directions suggests that the bottle can treat up to 30 gallons (113 L). Should I only pour in 1/3 of the bottle or the whole thing? Will adding too much of this gasoline additive hurt my engine?

Our Answer: For smaller fuel tanks of around 10 gallons (40 litres), it is safe to simply use the entire bottle of AMSOIL P.i. during a fill-up. There will be no harm to the fuel system or engine when “over-treating” down to ten gallons.

AMSOIL P.i. is for gasoline-powered automotive fuel systems. It is not suitable for small engines or powersport applications.

For small engines and powersport motors, use the multi-faceted Quickshot Gasoline Additive.

What Does AMSOIL P.i. Do?

AMSOIL P.i. Performance Improver is a very potent gasoline additive. Its main function is to thoroughly clean injection systems, valves and combustion chambers. A treatment of P.i. restores fuel economy, performance and drivability. Cleaning the combustion chamber can also reduce engine knock and pinging.

Independent testing shows that a single dose AMSOIL P.i. can restore horsepower by up to 14%. Engine carbon deposits can have a devastating impact on your engine’s operability. These deposits slowly build until you eventually realize that your engine is not running like it used to.

Today’s direct injection (GDI) engines are especially prone to carbon deposit formation. This can lead to poor performance and expensive repairs.

GDI engines are being employed in more and more vehicles every year. Regular treatment with AMSOIL P.i. can clean out deposits before they become a problem. This product does not cost, it pays.
