AMSOIL has entered into a sponsorship deal with the Canadian Football League to become the official motor oil of the CFL.
Details Of The AMSOIL/CFL Partnership
This sponsorship arrangement will prominently place the AMSOIL logo in CFL television broadcasts, videos and in CFL stadiums. There are other marketing efforts in the works that will showcase the AMSOIL brand to Canadian football fans.
Why Did AMSOIL Choose To Work With The CFL?
AMSOIL is looking to boost exposure in the Canadian marketplace. Market analysis shows that CFL fans tend to have a strong interest in the automotive and powersport segments. They are also more apt to service their own vehicles than other consumers. Therefore, AMSOIL saw the CFL partnership as a great fit.

Let’s see how Sea Foam Motor Treatment stacks up against AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer for preserving fuel and preventing rust and corrosion.
Sea Foam Motor Treatment is a very popular fuel and oil treatment. In fact, Sea Foam could be considered a household name for those inclined to have a bit of grease under their fingernails. This article examines lab testing of Sea Foam against AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer in the categories fuel stabilization and rust protection.
About Sea Foam Motor Treatment
One of the main reasons that Sea Foam Motor Treatment is so popular is that it covers a lot of bases.
The company suggests that their multi-faceted Motor Treatment product offers the following benefits:
Stabilizes gasoline or diesel fuel for up to 2 years
Regarding the fuel stabilization claims, AMSOIL Inc. commissioned independent, third-party testing of Sea Foam Motor Treatment versus their AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer.
Let’s look at the results.
AMSOIL vs. Sea Foam In Gasoline Stabilization Testing
The ASTM “D525” test method for oxidation stability of gasoline is an industry standard. As the test title suggests, this protocol determines the stability of gasoline under enhanced oxidative conditions.
The triple-length version of this test was used to compare the gasoline stabilizing capabilities of AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer to Sea Foam Motor Treatment. As the chart below shows, the AMSOIL product delivered 800% longer fuel life versus Sea Foam. The Sea Foam product didn’t even pass the standard-length test.
Rust Prevention- AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer vs. Sea Foam
The ASTM “D665B” test measures rust inhibitor capabilities when exposed to synthetic sea water. This accelerated test simulates exposure to sea water and therefore showcases the ability to fight rust and corrosion.
The visual results from this test couldn’t be more obvious.
Cost Effectiveness- AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer vs. Sea Foam
Sea Foam Motor Treatment’s official treat rate for gas stabilization is 1 US-ounce per gallon of US-gasoline (10 ml per litre).
AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer’s treat rate is a mere 0.4 US-ounces per US-gallon of gasoline (3.12 ml per litre of gasoline).
These products are priced similarly per bottle.
Conclusion
When it comes to fuel stabilizing and rust prevention, AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer vastly out-performs Sea Foam Motor Treatment.
To be fair, the Sea Foam performs a few more tasks than AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer. The Sea Foam Motor Treatment is known more for its fuel system and deposit cleaning capabilities. Sea Foam is very popular for these uses and for very good reason.
However, Sea Foam’s claims of offering fuel stability for up to two years, do not stack up well when compared to AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer.

A reader asks: Does AMSOIL make conventional motor oil?
Our answer: AMSOIL does not make conventional, regular or “dino” engine oil (well, except for one product).
The only AMSOIL motor oil product that is not synthetic or semi-synthetic is the AMSOIL Break-in Oil (SAE 30). This product is designed for re-built street-rod and racing engines. Break-in oil is only in service for a brief time and to serve a specific purpose. Therefore, for this particular application, conventional oil gets the job done.
AMSOIL was the first company to offer a synthetic motor oil for automotive applications back in 1972. They built their reputation on synthetic oil and have manufactured almost all full-synthetic oil products for the 50-plus year existence of the company. Synthetic oils were the only base oil types that could withstand the long service life built into many of the products. Also, only synthetic oil could deliver the lofty performance and protective properties guaranteed by AMSOIL.
Does AMSOIL Make Semi-Synthetic Oil Products?
AMSOIL has made a few synthetic-blend oils over the years. They now touch on semi-synthetics where it serves a function or meets a price-point.
For a few years, the only blend was AMSOIL Marine Synthetic-Blend 25W-40. This product was designed as a synthetic-blend because Mercury Marine recommended this base oil type for many of their engines.
Most recently, AMSOIL has released their Commercial-Grade series of diesel engine oil and hydraulic oils. The Commercial-Grade series is formulated to meet a competitive-price point. Therefore, semi-synthetic base oils are employed across the line-up. However, ultra-high quality is still a major consideration. These products contain at least 50% synthetic oil. Most synthetic-blends on the market contain between 1% and 15% synthetic oil.
Will AMSOIL Make Conventional Engine Oils In The Future?
In our opinion, that seems doubtful. The motor oil industry targets for wear protection, fuel economy and deposit control are always increasing. Synthetic oils are best equipped to meet these performance targets. We submit that conventional oil demand will be consistently falling in the coming years. Therefore, it seems unlikely that AMSOIL would move toward an increasingly outdated technology.
Oildepot has been a dealer for AMSOIL’s world-class synthetic products since 2001. We offer wholesale prices for individual, retailers and commercial businesses. Orders are shipped from distribution warehouses located throughout the US and Canada with free shipping options.

Let’s take a look at the 2024 Ski-Doo snowmobile line. We will also offer an AMSOIL Synthetic Oil recommendation for each model and engine option.
Ski-Doo Brings Turbo To The Trail
Ski-Doo has added a serious dose of excitement to the MXZ series for 2024. They now offer the option of the 180 horsepower 850 E-TEC Turbo R engine in the MXZ X-RS model. This engine was first introduced in the Freeride mountain sleds. Instead of adding the extra weight of an intercooler, Ski-Doo took a more novel approach. A mixture of water and methanol is injected into the intake to cool the air as it enters the cylinders. This allows for more air volume to enter the cylinders, thereby maximizing power output.
Other 2024 Ski-Doo Line-up Changes
Here are the other changes of note for ‘24. The REV Gen5 chassis has been added to several 4-stroke and 600cc two-stroke models. The Backcountry series gets the cMotionX rear suspension. The Renegade line is shifting almost entirely to four-stroke engines. The Freeride models get a series of chassis refinements for improved handling.

AMSOIL Synthetic 2-Stroke Injector Oil
