This is an expansion of AMSOIL’s “Commercial-Grade” Series that was launched earlier this year. It joins a semi-synthetic 15W-40 diesel oil and a line of hydraulic oils in the series. AMSOIL created the “Commercial-Grade” product line for cost-competitiveness in the commercial market.

A very noteworthy feature of this new 10W-30 diesel oil is that its base oil contains over 50% synthetic oil. The vast majority of synthetic-blend or semi-synthetic diesel oils contain between just 1% and 15% synthetic oil. AMSOIL has tested all of them.
There is no regulation in the motor oil industry regarding what can be labelled as semi-synthetic or synthetic-blend. While the term suggests that an engine oil is 50/50 synthetic and conventional oil, nothing can be further from the truth.
