AMSOIL has released a new 100% synthetic 0W-20 motor oil for late-model Volkswagen/Audi gasoline and diesel-powered models. AMSOIL SAE 0W-20 LS-VW Synthetic European Motor Oil was formulated specifically for the VW 508.00 and VW 509.00 specifications.

About VW 508.00/509.00 Motor Oil

The VW 508.00 specification is for gasoline vehicles, while the VW 509.00 specification is for diesel-powered vehicles. Engine oils meeting the VW 508.00/509.00 standard must be low-SAPS (sulfated ash, phosphorous, sulfur) and have a viscosity in the 0W-20 range. The formulation has to be compatible with Volkswagen and Audi emission components, including diesel particulate filters. Motor oils must also meet VW and Audi’s standards regarding film strength, wear control, turbo-suitability, detergent content and anti-foam properties.
