Kyle Biro Rocks Western Canadian Amateur Motocross Nationals
Congratulations to AMSOIL-sponsored racers Kyle and Jarret Biro of Moose Jaw SK who had a very successful weekend at the Western Canadian Amateur Motocross Championships held near Raymond AB. The event ran from June 27-30.
Jarret finished a very solid 4th in the 85cc (ages 12-16) class and 6th in the Supermini class. He is still recovering from a heavy crash earlier in the season and at age 12, he is at the bottom end of this age class, so expect even stronger results from him going forward. Jarret was the #1 plate holder in the 65cc class at this event in 2010.
Kyle Biro had an absolutely dominating performance sweeping the Junior MX2, Junior MX3 and Schoolboy classes. With this showing he was awarded the Kermaxx Silver Sprocket Award which is presented to the rider who earned the most points in the event. If that wasn’t enough, Kyle was also awarded the Yamaha Factory Rider Award. This award gives Kyle a Yamaha motocross bike for the 2014 season along with $2500 in parts.
To illustrate just how dominating Kyle’s performance was, he won seven of nine motos entered, finishing 2nd in the two races that he didn’t win. Consider also that he rode a Yamaha YZ 125 against bikes as large as 450cc in the MX3 class, so he didn’t always have the strongest starts.
Kyle graduated from the Supermini class to the larger 125cc bike this season. He had a very strong 2012 season on his Supermini finishing 10th overall at the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Motocross Championships in Tennessee last summer. Loretta’s is considered by many to be the world amateur championships as numerous motocross legends have cut their teeth there.
We look forward to seeing how Kyle and Jarret Biro perform at the Canadian Amateur National Motocross Championships which are held at Walton Ontario in August.
