AMSOIL hp Injector Shines in Evinrude E-TEC Lean-Mix Test

As AMSOIL is always looking for ways to confirm the high quality of their products, they recently participated in a challenging field test involving their hp Injector Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil. The test involved Evinrude E-TEC outboard engines at the “lean-mix” setting. The Evinrude E-TEC engines are unique in that they have an optional setting that allows less oil to be used. This setting can only be reprogrammed by an authorized Evinrude service center and done so with the stipulation that the customer use only Evinrude XD-100 two-cycle oil.

AMSOIL hp Injector participated in a field test with the cooperation of a marine-rescue tow company. A tow vessel using twin 250 horsepower E-TEC outboards were each converted to the lean setting. One engine burned hp Injector, while the other burned XD-100. The engines were put through their paces for over 500 hours and then torn down and inspected by an independent test agency.
