AMSOIL and Fleece Performance Engineering have entered into a collaboration to create a line of synthetic diesel engine oils. These oils are custom designed to meet Fleece’s specifications. This new line of engine oils is called Fleece Freedom Series.
New Fleece/AMSOIL Freedom Series Products
Fleece Freedom Series Synthetic 5W-40, 10W-30 or 15W-40 Diesel Engine Oils
These three products are ideal for stock or modified engines requiring one of these viscosity grades. They cover the API CK-4 spec making them suitable for new diesel engines and backward compatible with older applications. Fleece required that these products combat wear and protect turbo-chargers from deposits and high operating temperatures.
Fleece Freedom Series 15W-50 Synthetic Racing Oil
This full-synthetic diesel 15W-50 racing oil is for highly modified, high-horsepower diesel engines. It is designed for the rigors of competition applications such as dyno runs, sled pulls and drag racing.
This racing 15W-50 has a very robust synthetic base that is loaded with zinc and phosphorus. It protects rings, cylinders and valvetrains under severe loads and extreme heat.
Fleece Freedom Series Break-in Oil
This SAE 30 break-in oil was formulated for new or rebuilt high-performance engines. It is designed to safely wear-in rings and cylinder bores for ideal engine performance. Fleece Break-In Oil is loaded with zinc and phosphorus to protect valvetrain components during the break-in process. For Fleece-built diesels or other high-performance engines.

About Fleece Performance Engineering
Fleece is a Pittsboro, Indiana-based performance parts maker and engine builder for the diesel pick-up market. Their main specialty is components such as turbochargers, cylinder heads, fuel system kits and electrical items. They also offer complete Fleece-built engines and engine blocks for some applications.

Frequently Asked Questions About Fleece Freedom Series Engine Oil
Is this oil only for Fleece-built diesel engines?
While these oils were formulated to Fleece’s specifications, they can certainly be used in other engines where the grade and specification are appropriate.
Can these new Fleece diesel oils be used in stock engines?
Some of the Fleece oils can be used with stock engines and others not. Here are product options and thoughts on stock engine use.
Fleece Freedom Series 5W-40, 10W-30 and 15W-40- These oils cover the API CK-4 spec and can be used in stock engines.
Fleece Freedom Series Racing 15W-50- This product is designed for highly modified engines for competition use. Therefore, there is no upside to using this product in a stock, unmodified engine.
Fleece Freedom Series Break-In Oil- This break-in oil is meant for rebuilt-modified or new crate engines. It should not be used in new pick-up truck engines. For new trucks, the factory fill is more than sufficient for break-in.
Why are the Fleece Freedom Series Diesel Oils not being sold in Canada?
For now, the Fleece/AMSOIL Freedom Series Engine Oils will only be sold in the USA. Fleece does not have a huge presence in the Canadian market. Therefore, the decision was made to not to ship the products north of the border. However, fear not, the complete (and superb) AMSOIL Synthetic Diesel Engine Oil line is available for sale in Canada.
How do these Fleece Freedom Series Oils compare to AMSOIL Signature Series Max-Duty Diesel Oils?
This new Freedom Series 5W-40, 10W-30 and 15W-40 are built by AMSOIL to the specifications requested by Fleece. Make no mistake, these are top-notch synthetic diesel engine oils. However, AMSOIL Signature Series Max-Duty Synthetic Diesel Engine Oils are a bit of a step up and considered the best of the very best.
Can the Fleece Break-In Oil be used in gasoline engines?
Yes, this oil can be use in high-performance gasoline or diesel engines.
Is the Fleece Break-In Oil a synthetic Oil?
No, the Break-In Oil is conventional. The rest of the Fleece Freedom Series is 100% synthetic oil.
Can the Fleece Break-In oil be used with stock engines?
No need. Stock engines do break-in just fine with the factory-fill engine oil. Also, the high-zinc formula of this Break-In Oil may not be compatible with stock emissions equipment.
