AMSOIL has performed a significant formulation upgrade and name change to their Metric Motorcycle Oil Series. This line is now called “AMSOIL 100% Synthetic Motorcycle Oil”.
This new line is available in the following grades:
- 10W-30
- 10W-40
- 5W-40 (USA only)
- 10W-50 (USA only)
- 15W-50
Why Did AMSOIL Change The Metric Motorcycle Formula?
AMSOIL redesigned the entire line to meet the API SP and JASO MA2 specifications. These specs make this new lineup compatible with the most modern 4-stroke motorcycle engines/transmissions and backward compatible with older models. The JASO MA2 spec signifies that these oils are wet-clutch compatible as well as suitable for models equipped with catalytic converters.
What Types Of Motorcycles Are Compatible With This New AMSOIL Motor Oil?

The Dirt Bike Oils tend to be better choice as the frictional properties are tailored for quick clutch engagement. This is a benefit for explosive starts and quick hook-up out of tight turns. The new 100% Synthetic Motorcycle Oil Series is designed for smoother clutch engagement on the street.

What Is The Service Life Of This New Synthetic Motorcycle Oil?
The new AMSOIL 100% Synthetic Motorcycle Oil formula is overbuilt for long service life. When used in conjunction with an AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oil Filter, the oil change interval is twice the OEM drain interval or once per year (whichever comes first).
