About the Ea Nanofiber Filter Media
The function of any air filter is to provide engine protection and optimum air flow. AMSOIL’s synthetic nanofiber filter media is a drastic upgrade from oiled-cotton-gauze filters and conventional cellulose air filter material. The nanofiber media removes 50 times more dirt than oiled-gauze filters and 5 times more dirt than regular cellulose air filters. The dry media requires no filter oil, so there is no risk of air filter oil fouling the mass air flow sensor. This is a huge risk with oiled filters.
Capacity is vital to consistent air filter performance and the synthetic nanofiber media of AMSOIL Ea Air Induction Filters brings that in droves. The Ea filter media holds 15 times more dirt than oiled cotton air filters and 2.5 times more than regular cellulose element material.
The AMSOIL nanofiber filter material has millions of tiny pores on the surface of the air filter that keeps dirt on the surface of the unit. This dirt is removed when the filter is serviced. Due to the large surface area and the tiny, consistently sized pores of the filter media, contaminants do not penetrate the depth of the filter and consistently sufficient air flow if always available, even when the air filter is dirty.

AMSOIL Air Filters Are Built to Last
The durable synthetic media is fortified by epoxy-coated wire mesh on both the inside and outside of the filter. Flexible urethane connections allow for a complete seal.
Why Oiled-Cotton Gauze Air Filters are Inferior
Oiled-gauze has been a popular air filter media material in the performance market for decades. The reason being is that this type of filter material allows for superior air-flow over regular paper air filter media. But there are some significant downsides to this type of material. Although these air filters breathe well, they are substandard when it comes to stopping fine dirt and dust. We have seen this in our personal vehicles through oil analysis and with visual evidence of dust getting past the air filter. The other major issue with oiled air filters is the risk of filter oil getting through the filter and fouling the mass-airflow sensor. K&N (for example) denies that this issue exists, but do a search. We had this happen to our daily driver back in the late 90’s and there is no question that K&N oil coated the MAF sensor.
How to Clean an AMSOIL Ea Air Filter
Simply unbolt the filter from the air intake bring the filter to an open area. Then you have the choice of using either a vacuum cleaner or light compressed air to clean the element.
Vacuum Method
Simply vacuum the dirty side of the filter using special care not to allow dirt into the open end of the filter element.
Compressed Air Method
Using only 15 to 20 psi of compressed air, carefully blow at a 45 degree angle from the clean side (blowing the dirt off the element rather than in).
How Often Should I Clean my AMSOIL Ea Universal Air Induction Filter?
For daily drivers, clean once per year or every 25,000 miles (40,000 km), or whichever comes first. Clean the filter more often if operated in extremely dusty conditions.
For cars that are only driven occasionally, simply clean as needed.
