An Additive That Reduces Engine Temperatures
To fine-tune the new Dominator Coolant Boost formulation, extensive dyno testing was performed by AMSOIL. An engine was run at 4500 rpm until a steady coolant temperature was reached. Straight water leveled off at 220°F, while a mix of 50-50 antifreeze and water had a baseline temperature of 228°F. The chart below shows the amount of temperature reduction when AMSOIL Dominator Coolant Boost was added.

AMSOIL’s exclusive surfactant technology not only works at high temps, it also dramatically reduces winter warm-up periods. When coolant temperatures reach 120°F, the vehicle’s occupants start to feel warmth from the heater system. The surfactants in AMSOIL Dominator Coolant Boost improve heat transfer over regular 50-50 antifreeze mix. Engines with 50-50 antifreeze mix treated with the prescribed dosage of AMSOIL Dominator Coolant Boost reach an operating temperature of 120°F 54% faster than engines using regular 50-50 antifreeze mix.

Why You Shouldn’t Use Only Straight Water in Racing Engines
A common practice in race cars and vehicles operated in hot climates is to use straight water in the cooling system. The problem with using straight water as a coolant is its corrosive effects. Corrosion can congest cooling systems and damage water pumps. Adding AMSOIL Dominator Coolant Boost neutralizes the corrosive effects of straight water.
In independent trials using the standardized ASTM D1384 testing protocol, AMSOIL Dominator Coolant Boost was tested against straight water on a number of common engine and radiator materials. The values below represent weight “in milligrams” lost to corrosion.

Independent Comparison: AMSOIL Dominator Coolant Boost versus Red Line Water Wetter
A common additive used by high performance enthusiasts is Red Line Water Wetter. Although these two products perform similar tasks, the AMSOIL coolant additive uses a surfactant formula that takes effect during cold starts and keeps working right through to maximum temperature. The Red Line product works only during high operating temperatures. The advantage of this is that AMSOIL Dominator Coolant Boost decreases warm-up times and stabilizes temperatures from warm-up through to the engine’s upper temperature limits.
AMSOIL Dominator Coolant Boost offers improved corrosion protection and lower operating temperature over Red Line Water Wetter. In independent, head-to-head testing, AMSOIL Dominator Coolant Boost and Water Wetter were tested for corrosion using common engine and radiator materials. AMSOIL Dominator Coolant Boost can be used with either straight water in racing applications or with antifreeze mixtures for street applications. Coolant Boost is compatible with all antifreeze types. Vehicle types include:

Directions for Use
- Add only to cool engine with ignition turned off.
- Shake bottle of AMSOIL Dominator Coolant Boost
- Pour prescribed amount into radiator or expansion reservoir
- Start engine, turn heat on high and allow mix to circulate for 15 minutes.
- For street applications using conventional antifreeze mixtures, add product once per year or every 50,000 km (30,000 miles). Change antifreeze at interval as prescribed by owners manual.
- For straight water usage, change once per year or as coolant color dictates.
