It is suitable for gasoline engines and as well older diesel applications (API CI-4 Plus) and even ATV/motorcycle use, making this oil a versatile performer for fleets, farms, motorhome and commercial usage. It also perfect for older vehicles that require a heavier viscosity, towing/hauling and other extreme-duty situations.

Heavy-Duty Wear Control

The heavy viscosity synthetic base oil coupled with a stout additive package brings unsurpassed wear protection. The high zinc and phosphorus content makes this oil suitable even for flat tappet cam engines. The shear-stable formula maintains these protective properties even after long-term exposure to extreme heat and heavy loads.

Suitable For Wet Clutch Transmissions

AMSOIL Synthetic 10W-40 Premium Protection Motor Oil does not contain friction modifiers making this oil suitable for ATV and motorcycle wet-clutch transmissions. The anti-wear properties protects gears, while the low-friction synthetic formula improves shifting performance.

Mixing AMSOIL With Other Brands

AMSOIL Synthetic 10W-40 Premium Protection Motor Oil is compatible with all other brands of conventional and synthetic motor oils. While you can safely mix AMSOIL Synthetic Oil with other brands, this will reduce the drain interval and performance capabilities of AMSOIL oil.

Service Life

AMSOIL Synthetic 10W-40 Premium Protection Motor Oil is recommended for extended intervals in unmodified, mechanically-sound vehicles or equipment as follows:

Diesel Engine Service

  • Normal Service – Up to 25,000 miles (40,000 kilometres) or one year (whichever comes first) or longer based on oil analysis.
  • Severe Service*– Up to 15,000 miles (24,000 kilometres) or one year (whichever comes first) or longer based on oil analysis.

Gasoline Engine Service

  • Normal Service – Up to 15,000 miles (24,000 kilometres) or one year (whichever comes first) or longer based on oil analysis.
  • Severe Service* – Up to 15,000 miles (24,000 kilometres) or one year (whichever comes first) or longer based on oil analysis.

*Severe Service includes turbo or supercharged engines, commercial or fleet operation, vehicles with more than 100,000 miles (160,000 km) without prior continuous use of AMSOIL motor oil, frequent short trips of less than 10 miles (16 kilometres), heavy towing, snow-plow service or operation in dusty conditions.

Motorcycles, Small Engines, Stationary Engines, Heavy Equipment And Other Applications

Follow the manufacturer-recommended oil change interval.

AMSOIL Ea™ Full-Flow Oil Filters are designed for extended drain intervals. They stop smaller particles, flow more oil and last longer than regular filters. For best performance, use AMSOIL Ea™ Full-Flow Oil Filters and replace at the time of oil change. Other oil filters should be changed at intervals as recommended by the manufacturer.
