AMSOIL SAE 30 Break-In Oil is blended without friction modifiers to aid piston ring seating, but does contain generous amounts of zinc and phosphorus to prevent premature camshaft wear, including flat-tappet cam engines. AMSOIL Break-In Oil allows for a fast and effective break-in period, so your engine performs correctly for the long haul.
Properly Seats Piston Rings
The objective of the break-in period is to effectively seat the piston rings with the engine cylinders. A correct break-in results in optimum compression, efficiency, power and minimal oil use. AMSOIL SAE 30 Break-In Oil allows for a moderate amount of friction to allow rings/cylinders to “wear-in” correctly, while preventing excessive wear and cylinder glazing.
Controls Wear- Where It Counts
AMSOIL SAE 30 Break-In Oil is formulated with high levels of zinc and phosphorus. Flat-tappet camshafts and other high wear items are protected during he break-in process. While effective ring/cylinder break-in is taking place, no price is being paid in other areas of your engine. AMSOIL SAE 30 Break-In Oil is a shear-stable formula, so it provides a critical and dependable barrier against wear.
Applications for AMSOIL SAE 30 Break-In Oil
AMSOIL Break-In Oil is suitable for the break-in of muscle car, street rod and race engines. This product is NOT recommended for engines of new or rebuilt street vehicles or passenger cars with modern factory emission equipment in place.
Mixing AMSOIL Break-In Oil with Other Brands
AMSOIL Break-In Oil is compatible with all other brands of motor oils. While you can safely mix AMSOIL Break-In with other brands, this will reduce the performance capabilities.
The use of any aftermarket oil additives with AMSOIL SAE 30 Break-In Oil is definitely NOT recommended.
Recommendations
Follow the engine builder’s break-in suggestions. The break-in interval should not go beyond 1000 miles (1600 km).
