Diesel Engine Oil Life Recommendations

Signature Series 5W-30 Max-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil (except 2007-2010 models)– Two times the manufacturer’s oil change interval to a maximum of 40,000 km/25,000 miles or one year.
2007-2010 Signature Series 5W-30 Max-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil– Must follow the manufacturer’s oil change interval. This is due to potential fuel dilution issues.
Heavy Duty Engines/Off-Road Equipment– Three times the manufacturer’s oil change interval to a maximum of 60,000 miles (96,500 km) or 600 hours or one year (whichever comes first).
2007- 2009 Caterpillar C13 and C15 Highway Engines– Must follow the manufacturer’s oil change interval. This is due to excessive fuel dilution.

Note: Do not extend oil change intervals when vehicle is operated in the following situations. Oil change intervals may be extended when supported with oil analysis.

  • Severe service applications (see vehicle owner’s manual for “severe service” definition).
  • When engine is heavily modified.
  • When 15% biodiesel (B15) is used.

Gasoline Engine Oil Life Recommendations

Up to two times the oil change interval as recommended by your owner’s manual to maximum of 15,000 miles (24,000 km) or one year, whichever comes first.

Note: When using gasoline with an ethanol content of greater than 10%, follow the manufacturer’s oil change interval or support with oil analysis.

Mixing AMSOIL Synthetic Diesel Engine Oil With Other Brands

AMSOIL Signature Series 5W-30 Max-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil is compatible with all other brands of conventional, semi-synthetic and synthetic diesel engine oils. While you can safely mix AMSOIL Synthetic Diesel Oil with other brands, this will reduce the drain interval and performance capabilities of AMSOIL diesel oil.

The use of any aftermarket engine oil additives is definitely not recommended.
