Suitable Applications for AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease
AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease is suitable for all brands of bulldozers, backhoes, graders, trackhoes, loaders, excavators, turnapoles, scrapers, articulated trucks, forestry machines, mining shovels, skidders, telehandlers and more. It is ideal for the following components:
- Buckets/Loaders
- King pins
- Bushings
As this grease is designed for extreme loads and very heavy-duty service, it is NOT suitable for wheel bearings, general bearing or light chassis service.
Note: Due to the thick, heavy consistency of AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease, it is not suited for central, auto systems and many electric grease guns. A heavy follower plate may be needed when dispensing grease from bulk formats. The NLGI #2 version of this grease is suited for pumping in temperatures above 4°C (40°F), while the NLGI #1 version is suited for pumping above -18°C (0°F).
Features and Benefits of AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease
- Adheres to parts even when exposed to extreme torque and shock-loads.
- Stout composition resists wear and damage from heavy equipment service.
- Extends equipment life, reduces repair costs.
- Highly resistant to water contamination.
- Meets Cat’s 5% molybdenum grease specification.
- Long lasting- ideal for components that are infrequently greased.
- Employs high-tech synthetic formula with calcium-sulfonate thickeners.
Withstands Extreme Shock-Loads
The hallmark of AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease is its ability to adhere to components that are subjected to severe shock loads and intense torque. Regular grease is simply “pushed out “ of components exposed to this type of service, leaving parts without lubrication and vulnerable to accelerated wear. AMSOIL Off-Road Grease is designed to endure the rigors of heavy equipment service over extended periods. The result is longer grease service life, lower repair bills and less downtime. The video below shows how this product compares versus Caterpillar Ultra 5Moly Grease, Phillips Megaplex XD5, Bobcat Supreme HD, Case Moly and Valvoline Palladium in a bench test simulation.
Lowers Maintenance Costs
As AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease resists shearing and displacement, the interval between greasing can be increased by up to 50%. Equipment remains on the job rather than shut down for service and repairs. This product is also ideal for pins and bushings that can’t be serviced on a regular basis.
Formulated for Cat Pins and Bushings
Caterpillar advises that any grease used on their equipment’s pins and bushings must contain 5% molybdenum disulfide or “moly”. Moly is a lubricant additive that provides a thin barrier of protection on metal parts. This improves a grease’s protective capabilities against extreme pressure forces. AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease contains 5% moly to fulfil Cat’s specifications, but the moly addition was the easy part. AMSOIL utilizes a sophisticated synthetic base lubricant along with calcium-sulfonate complex thickeners to create a bulletproof grease that is optimal for not only Caterpillar pins and bushings, but any brand of heavy equipment.
Ideal for Wet Service
AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease adheres to components and provides an impenetrable barrier against water, mud, snow and ice. This feature allows for less maintenance in wet service applications and reduced wear due to washed-out grease as well as rust and corrosion.
Can AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease Be Mixed With Other Grease?
AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease is compatible with a wide variety of grease brands and types. For best results, flush out old grease when switching over to this product.
