Maximum Wear Defense
Not all gear oils are created equal. AMSOIL has loaded Severe Gear 75W-90 with the best quality extreme pressure (EP) additives available. These EP additives are designed to withstand sudden shock loads and long periods of heavy torque. The synthetic base oil is formulated to offer steady viscosity protection day-in and day-out over long service intervals.
Flows In Extreme Cold
With a cold-pour point of -45°F, Severe Gear 75W-90 offers instant oil flow and low resistance when you start up on the coldest of mornings. AMSOIL Severe Gear delivers industry-leading performance in extreme cold.
Steady Viscosity Protection In Extreme Heat
When exposed to towing, heavy loads or intense heat, AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-90 Synthetic Oil maintains very steady viscosity and reliable film strength. Severe Gear 75W-90 will not thin out or form deposits. It delivers steadfast protection from one end of the temperature spectrum to the other.
Lowers Friction For Improved Efficiency
AMSOIL Severe Gear proprietary synthetic formula lowers friction. Therefore, less power is required to drive differentials and gearboxes. This performance benefit is amplified when AMSOIL synthetic oil is used in other vehicle components.
Conditions Seals To Prevent Leaks
Today’s synthetic gear lubes don’t cause leaks; they actually prevent them. AMSOIL’s Severe Gear formula is designed to keeps seal pliable and supple over long periods. This attribute is especially ideal for high mileage cars or stored cars that are rarely driven.
Inhibits Rust And Corrosion
Gears, bearings and other components are not only protected from wear, they are kept pristine from rust in case of condensation or moisture ingestion.
Limited Slip Differentials: Is Adding A Friction Modifier Or Additive Necessary?
AMSOIL Severe Gear does contain additives for limited slip differentials. However, there are occasions where differential chatter can occur. As a precaution, we recommend adding roughly two-thirds of a bottle of AMSOIL Slip-Lock Limited Slip additive or the equivalent OEM friction modifier additive.

Mixing AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-90 With Other Brands
AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-90 Synthetic Oil is compatible with all other brands of conventional, semi-synthetic and synthetic gear oils. While you can safely mix AMSOIL Synthetic Oil with other brands, this will reduce the drain interval and performance capabilities of AMSOIL oil.
The use of any aftermarket oil additives (other than limited-slip friction modifiers) is definitely NOT recommended.
