Heavy Duty Wear Control
Severe Gear 75W-140 uses AMSOIL’s finest synthetic base oils and powerful extreme pressure additives. The robust 75W-140 viscosity is designed to protect from metal-to-metal contact. Withstands severe shock loads and long periods of heavy-loads.
Flawless Cold Weather Protection
While other 75W-140 gear oils are gelled in extreme cold, Severe Gear Synthetic 75W-140 flows to vital components. With a cold-pour-point of -43C (-45F), protection, performance and efficiency are not compromised when the mercury dips.
Protects In Extreme Heat
When exposed to extended periods of hot operating temperatures, heat can build-up and spiral out of control with some gear lubes. The viscosity protection can break down, severely compromising wear protection. AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-140 keeps heat and friction in check and actually lowers operating temperatures. Components receive steady protection regardless of high heat or heavy loads.
Synthetic Friction Reduction
Despite the heavy 75W-140 viscosity, Severe Gear’s elite synthetic formula minimizes friction to optimize fuel economy and deliver the best possible performance.
Keeps Seals Pliable
AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-140 is designed to keep seals supple and prevent shrinkage. Seals last longer and leaks can be prevented.
Limited Slip Differentials And Severe Gear 75W-140: Is a Friction Modifier Additive Needed?
AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-140 does contain limited-slip additives, but differential chatter can occasionally occur in some vehicles. As a precautionary measure, we recommend adding roughly two-thirds of a bottle of AMSOIL Slip-Lock Limited Slip additive or the counterpart OEM limited-slip differential additive.

Mixing AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-140 with Other Brands
AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-140 Synthetic Oil is compatible with all other brands of conventional, semi-synthetic and synthetic GL-5 gear oils. While you can safely mix AMSOIL Severe Gear with other brands, this will reduce the drain interval and performance capabilities of AMSOIL gear oil.
Do NOT add aftermarket oil additives (other than limited-slip friction modifiers).
