Isle of Man TT Motorcycle Video

The Isle of Man TT is one of the oldest and arguably craziest motorcycle events on the planet. The prestigious race was first held in 1907 and has been run on the current Snaefell Mountain Course since 1911. Due to constant safety concerns, the event has not been part of the FIM (International Motorcycling Federation) race schedule since 1989. The Isle of Man Department of Tourism has held the event since that time, branding it as the Isle of Man TT Festival.

The twisty, narrow 37.75 mile course features 200 bends and spans an altitude of over 1300 feet. The sudden rises are often cause for the riders to get airborne at very high speed which has spawned some of the most iconic images of the event. The course is run on ordinary public highways which are closed for the race.

The race format is a time trial or race against the clock, with each individual rider leaving the starting line on their own.

As mentioned, safety at this event has always been an enormous concern. Since 1907, there have 231 deaths. As you’ll see in the video below, the racing is spectacular and the crashes are breathtaking.
