Economical Oil Pump Makes Gear Lube Fills a Cinch
Changing oil in differentials, transfer cases, boat lower units and some transmissions can be a messy and awkward affair. Often times you are working in a cramped space and in a contorted position. Spills are common and the process can be a slow one.
Our AMSOIL Hand Oil Pump is an absolute godsend for these jobs and for under $15, it is a great value too. It delivers clean and efficient oil installation in the tightest of areas. When you have completed the task, it disassembles easily for complete clean-up.
It comes complete with different attachments to work with AMSOIL quart, gallon and 2.5 gallon containers. We show it here in a jug of Honda VTM-4 Differential Fluid. This an exclusive Honda fluid for their VTM-4 (Variable Torque Management 4WD) full-time, four-wheel drive system. As our Ridgeline requires that the rear diff fluid be changed every 24,000 kilometers, we are certainly pleased to have this item on hand.

Cleaning Tip
We keep a clean, empty quart bottle on hand to clean leftover oil out of the pump. We add a cup or two of varsol to the bottom of the bottle and then run it through the pump. We then disassemble the unit, wipe it clean and allow it to dry before storage.
Bonus Tip
When working under vehicles, it seems that trouble lights are never pointing in the direction where illumination is needed. We found this headlamp at Walmart for under $3 (requires 3 AAA batteries, not included). For a just few bucks it certainly does shed some light on the situation. One can certainly upgrade to a better quality lamp depending on what you want to spend.
