Preventing Frozen Car Door Seals
After washing your vehicle during the winter months, a very common (and inconvenient) problem is water working its way into the door seals and freezing the doors shut. This affliction can be prevented very easily. Every few months, liberally apply either AMSOIL Silicone Spray or a rubber/vinyl/plastic protectant to the inner and outer seals. This will leave a water resistant finish on the seals that dramatically reduces the risk of frozen doors. It’s also a very good idea to give the seals a quick wipe down with a dry cloth after exiting the car wash. Conditioned seals will be supple and stay resistant to drying and cracking for many, many years. Don’t forget the trunk seals as well.
