New AMSOIL API-CK-4 Diesel Engine Oils Now Available
AMSOIL has performed a major overhaul on their synthetic diesel engine oil line up with the introduction of seven brand new products. The motivation for this big change is the arrival of a major new diesel engine oil specification. This being the API (American Petroleum Institute) CK-4 specification.
We can offer these new synthetic diesel engine oils at wholesale prices in Canada or the United States. We’ve got the brand new February 2017 price list on hand. Contact us using the form on this page or call us at 1-800-748-5781.
The new diesel engine oils are split into to two distinct series.
Signature Series Max-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil Series
The Signature Series Max-Duty will be the premium, high-end offering. These oils are fully compatible with old or new engines. Signature Series Max-Duty will be capable of 2 times the suggested drain interval of turbo-diesel pick-up trucks (except for 2007-10 models). In heavy-duty/off-road diesel engines, they are capable of 3 times the OEM-suggested service interval.
The Signature Series Max-Duty line also boasts some pretty impressive wear control capabilities. In the Detroit Diesel DD13 Engine Scuffing Test, the Max-Duty products delivered 6 times the wear protection over the minimum standard.
The Signature Series Max-Duty products are available in 5W-30, 5W-40, 0W-40 and 15W-40.
Heavy-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil Series
This series offers economically-priced synthetic diesel oil for commercial and fleet applications, as well as the budget-minded truck owner. The Heavy-Duty series is available in 5W-40, 10W-30 and 15W-40.
While the Heavy-Duty series may have an attractive price tag, that doesn’t mean that AMSOIL scrimped on wear control. The Heavy Duty series’ result in the Detroit Diesel DD13 Engine Scuffing Test was 4 times the minimum standard.

Suitable For Ford Power Stroke Engines
Ford Motor Company is concerned that some API CK-4 diesel engine oils may not provide sufficient wear control for their Power Stroke diesel engines. They contend that some CK-4 oils may not contain enough phosphorus to provide adequate wear protection. Ford has released their own diesel motor oil spec so that Power Stroke owners can be sure that they are choosing a motor oil that provides adequate wear protection. This specification is called Ford WSS-M2C171-F1.
Note the AMSOIL Signature Series Max-Duty 5W-30 will not carry the Ford spec. The rest of the Signature Series Max-Duty and Heavy-Duty products will carry the Ford WSS-M2C171-F1 spec on the bottle. They are 100% safe for use in Power Stroke engines.
